The Family Stabilization Program provides support to families and individuals experiencing a crisis. Assistance may be available for situations such as an unexpected medical emergency, job loss, or homelessness. Services are available to households facing housing instability as well as single adults in need of support.

Family Stabilization Specialists offer case management services, connecting clients with resources that help promote stability and long-term success. In addition to case management, limited financial assistance and food support may be available.

The program utilizes a variety of funding sources, each with specific eligibility requirements. Proof of income is required for eligibility. Same-day appointments may be available. To schedule an appointment, please call our main office at (308) 635-3089.

Nebraska Diaper Bank & Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska

NDB REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY:
  • The child’s parent/guardian must be the individual receiving diapers
  • Families receive 60-80 (2 bundles) diapers per month for each child served.
  • Children may receive diapers from the moment they are born until their 3rd birthday (Exception- the child Has been diagnosed with special needs.)
  • The family is experiencing financial need. Family verifies their income is below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or identified as experiencing hardship.
  • Families may only receive one supplement of diapers (60-80 diapers/ 2 bundles) from Nebraska Diaper Bank each month

Free Period Products

No one should be held back from fully participating in life because they don’t have access to period products. Visit CAPWN Community Action Health Center for a free 3-month menstrual supply kit.

Each Kit Includes:
75 pads or tampons
20 liners
personal wipes disposal bags

Other projects we provide are:

  • VITA:  Volunteer Income Tax Assistance only during tax season.  Call 308-635-3089 to get on the list to be contacted.
  • Back To School:  Applications are accepted during the entire month of July. Eligible children will receive a new backpack and some supplies to begin the school year.  Proof of income is necessary.
  • Holiday Food & Gift Program:  Applications are accepted beginning the 1st workday of October thru the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  Proof of income required.
  • Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign: We enlist volunteers to ring bells between Thanksgiving and Christmas for this campaign. 90% of what is collected stays in our community to possibly assist with rent, utilities, prescription assistance, gasoline for medical and possible other special assistance. Anyone who would like to volunteer at least 1 hour can call 308-633-3236 and leave a message.
