Growing Together: Empowering Families through Agriculture
Our CAPWN Head Start program is a comprehensive, federally funded child development initiative designed to support families working in agriculture. We focus on four core cornerstones:
- Child Development
- Family Development
- Community Building
- Staff Development


Who We Are
As a Community Action agency, we provide safe, high-quality learning environments and family support services. Our goal is to meet every child’s health, nutritional, dental, and social-emotional needs while honoring their unique cultural and language heritage.
Eligibility
To qualify for CAPWN Head Start services, families must meet the following requirements:
- Age: Children from 6 weeks to 5 years old (must be younger than compulsory school age).
- Agricultural Income: At least one family member must earn their primary income from agricultural work (cultivation, planting, irrigation, or processing of crops, dairy, poultry, livestock, trees, and fish farms).



Priority Enrollment
The program gives priority to children with special needs and families who have frequently relocated within the past two years to seek or engage in agricultural work.

How To Enroll
Applying is simple! You can visit us in person at the above centers, or if it is more convenient, we can complete your application via audio or video call.
Please have the following documents ready:
- Proof of Age: Birth/hospital certificate, insurance records, or immunizations.
- Agricultural Work Verification: W-2s, 1040 tax forms, check stubs, employer letter confirming agricultural labor.
