What is WIC
WIC is a special supplemental nutrition program funded & regulated by the USDA & FNS. It is one of the nation’s most successful and cost-effective nutrition intervention programs & it has been proven to improve the health of the families it serves.
In Nebraska, WIC helps approximately 35,000 people at over 100 clinic sites. More than half of all infants born in the US are served by the WIC program.

What WIC Offers You
WIC offers nutrition education, healthy foods, baby formula, breastfeeding education & support, healthcare & community referrals & more. We serve eligible pregnant & postpartum women, infants and children from birth to age 5 & foster children up to age 5.
Families receiving Medicaid, SNAP or ADC automatically qualify for the program, otherwise eligibility is based on income. For pregnant women, WIC includes the unborn infant in the family size when determining income eligibility.
Any caregiver with a child under the age of 5 can apply including dads, grandparents, guardians, etc.
