At Community Action Health Center, our behavioral health counseling program provides a comprehensive array of counseling services for both substance use and mental health issues.

Our experienced clinicians are trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques, enabling them to conduct initial assessments, provide individual, couples, or family counseling sessions.

The focus of our counseling is on the unique challenges faced by each individual, ensuring a supportive environment for healing and personal growth.

We offer a range of services, which include

Initial Diagnostic Interviews

The IDI is conducted as a part of the intake procedure to initiate counseling services.

It consists of a discussion between the clinician and the client aimed at collecting background information, developmental history, and current challenges.

This process includes an assessment and mental status evaluation, in addition to a clinical diagnosis and service recommendations.

Counseling for Individuals, Families and Couples

Our qualified mental health counselors are adept in a range of therapeutic approaches.

These include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems.

We focus on the specific challenges that each individual faces, creating a supportive space for healing and growth.

Mental Health Assessments

A Mental Health Assessment consists of an extensive review of an individual’s mental health, symptoms, and needs.

It includes an initial clinical diagnostic impression and offers recommendations for treatment or services.
