Minority Health

is funded by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Minority Health Program. We have several services available to our clients including:

Pharmacy: Clients receive information and guidance on applying for benefits.
Transportation Services: Services are provided to clients to help them access health care services.

Interpretation Services: Services for spanish speaking indviduals are available to businesses, organizations and indviduals.
Translation Services: Spanish translation services are avaialble for businesses, organizations and individuals.

Medical Interpretation Training: A certified instructor is avaialbe for coursework in "Bridge the Gap"

Wellness Programs: Programs emphasize weight management and support. Partipants receive a free pedometer and are welcome to take part in several activies including a walking group.
Screenings: Several health screenings are held throughout the service area including health fairs and special events. Screenings include blood pressure, glucose, cholestorol, etc.
Diabetes Program: The program focuses on newly diagnosed patients. Clients learn their options as well as tips on getting into the habit of checking their glucose levels regularly, establishing a healthy diet and exercise program and shopping for groceries. Clients can also attend support groups.
