The Foundation was established in 2001.
Charter
- To assist Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska in obtaining the resources needed to deliver programs and services that will result in low income and disadvantage families and individuals achieving self-sufficiency.
- Provide individuals, organizations and corporations the opportunity to make gifts and bequests of lasting value.
- To allow for the accumulation and disbursement of funds for capital expenditures, and improvements as identified by the Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska Board of Directors.
Mission
The purpose of the Foundation is to develop and implement giving campaigns as required to assist Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska meet community needs.
Projects
The foundation has funded several projects since its inception in 2001, including:
2004
- Raised funds for a matching grant of $180,000 from the Peter Kiewit Foundation. The grant allowed for the expansion of the health center and early childhood programs.
2005
- Established a permanent walkway for community members to showcase their partnerships and loyalty of Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska.
2006
- Funded the establishment of professional signs for the main campus are in Gering.
2007
- Provided funding for a blower fan for the Housing Department. The fan is used in both the Weatherization and Housing Rehabilitation Programs.
- Provided funding for the production of a public service announcment to raise awareness and increase enrollment in the Head Start Program.
